WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO OPEN THE HEART?
Leo Season brings with it the fire of the hearth. Looking into the etymology of “hearth” I thought I might find “heart” as the two words are so similar. I didn’t find a direct connection (surprisingly), but rather a very satisfying tangent when reading into the roots of “fireplace” instead":

It’s also worth noting that some pronounce “hearth” like “earth”, which tickles my brainstem in the most wonderful of ways.

Let’s takes a fractal journey into our hearts now. Our hearts have a magnetic field that is 5000 times as powerful as our brains.

The heart creates a magnetic field of at least 5 feet in diameter and engages in behaviors like “frequency locking” which syncs our heart frequency with the brains of another nearby being. Our hearts are also RECEIVERS of frequencies and constantly receiving the Earth’s magnetic fields generated from her core. She is 75% WATER. Pretty dang-good receiving potential, if you ask me.
Our hearts are our superpower… as long as we open them with love.
Heart Centered Practice as the Key to All
Opening the heart requires courage, trust and vulnerability. We are risking and exposing a most vital of organs in order to connect. As we move through the inevitable hardships of life, we build walls around our hearts: thickening and shielding with the illusion of protecting. But our hearts cannot serve us well if they cannot be an open and flowing channel of communications with other hearts, and with the Earth.
Cracking open the big, beautiful Lion’s heart within all of us means constantly turning inward and asking the questions:
Where is my JOY?
What makes me feel at HOME?
Where am I at PEACE next to the glow of the HEARTH?
Contemplating these questions opens up the channels between our hearts and ourselves which is the first step to opening up our hearts to each other.
The second step is recognizing the deep attraction that our hearts have to the Earth; very literally two magnets being pulled towards each other at all times. We live in a time of chaos disguised as order, distractions and overwhelming noise. What can you do to slow down and quiet the madness? What can you do to connect to the magnetic pull of the Earth and her frequency? Do this for a moment each day and you will crack open a glorious channel to the heart.
Leo reminds us that we have the courage to do this work. We can be brave and go into the unknown spaces in order to access our deep beloved selves.
