New Moon in Cancer 2024
New Moon in Cancer, 2024
Coming home to the roots of the heart to nourish, nurture and rehydrate the soul. Think of a mother breastfeeding her child. We have the capacity in us to provide every bit of spiritual nutrition that we need.
On the full moon in Capricorn, we gave ourselves all the permission slips. So now that we have written them out, it is time to fully integrate the permissions that we have given ourselves so we may lusciously and unapologetically nourish the soul. What is that nourishment for you?
How do you rehydrate? What does spiritual hydration look like for you?
Cancer as a water sign comes with emotions, but this is a Moon for honoring the truths that our emotions reveal to us. This is a moon where we get to say “Thank You” to the tears, to the rage, to the anger and to the exhaustion, because all of these emotions are uncovering the truth about how we are able to get back home to ourselves.
And we must always come home.
Because we are fully seeing and honoring our emotional selves, we can now progress forward from a solid foundation. We have blessed the land, honored our Earth mother, and now have the allowance to build on an extremely intentional foundation. We may not all be there! Here is a question to hold or discuss: “how do we numb, belittle, and suppress our emotional truths?”
Sometimes what gets in our way of coming back home to our true selves, is our ability to tap into Compassion, Gratitude, Forgiveness & Generosity.
On Forgiveness:
Forgiving others. Forgiving ourselves. Forgiving systems. Forgiving governments. When we cannot forgive, we resent and resentment keeps us from coming back home. A Sister who I recently circled with, and who has suffered unimaginable trauma offered this immense wisdom: We have to “learn to accept the apologies we may never hear.” This advice is extremely powerful.
We can also acknowledge truths as an offering of honor. Acknowledgment by speaking truths, whether that be for forgiveness or asking for the strength to forgive, will heal the soul. By honoring and acknowledging the sacred lands where we circle here in Central Texas, for example, I am asking for ancestral forgiveness from the indigenous who were driven out hundreds of years ago. Forgiveness heals deep wounds.
Another coin of wisdom from the same Sister mentioned above is that “being able to forgive and ask for forgiveness is a gift to yourself”,because once forgiveness is spoken, and once the strength to forgive has been cultivated, the waters will flow freely between the heart and the rest of the universe. This means you will have the way home. The Way knows the Way.
